Audrey Tautou

After numerous little-seen parts on French television, big-eyed and beautiful Audrey Tautou made her film debut with a small role in Vénus beauté Institut (Venus Beauty Institute), a 1999 romantic comedy set in a beauty salon. After several more films, she attracted international notice as the moon-faced girl in Amélie (a part Emily Watson had turned down). In À la Folie, Pas Du Tout (He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not) she played a disturbed housesitter who stalks the neighbor. In Un Long Dimanche de Fiançailles (A Very Long Engagement) she played a polio-stricken tuba player who refuses to accept her fiancé's death. She was also memorable as a jilted girlfriend in L'Auberge Espagnole (The Spanish Apartment). Her first English-language role was Dirty Pretty Things, a thriller about organs harvesting. She later appeared as the police cryptologist in The Da Vinci Code. Source: NNDB
